Need Help? We’ve Got You.

Need help with a rental, payment, power bank or return? Find quick answers below or contact the OBLit team for support. For faster assistance, WhatsApp us with your cellphone number and station code, and we’ll help get you powered again.

Mid-rental and stuck right now?

WhatsApp us with two things: the cellphone number you rented with and the station name or code from the front panel. With those we can see your rental and fix it from our side.

At the station

Starting a rental

The code has not arrived

Give it a minute — SMS can lag at busy venues. Check the number you typed, and check your phone has signal where you are standing. If it still has not come, request it again. If a second one does not arrive, WhatsApp us and we will sort it out directly.

The QR code will not scan

Wipe the code if it is smudged, and hold the phone steady about 15cm away. In a dark venue, turn on your torch. If your camera still will not read it, open oblit.co.za/rent and choose the station from the list — it can find the nearest one for you, or you can search by name. The station code is also printed on the front panel if you would rather type it.

My payment went through but nothing happened

Do not pay again. Wait about thirty seconds, since confirmation sometimes lags. If nothing releases, WhatsApp us with your cellphone number and the station name or code, and we will either release a unit or reverse the payment.

The station is empty

Every station reports its stock to us in real time, so an empty one is usually already on our list. Open oblit.co.za/rent and tap "find the nearest station" — the list shows how many power banks each one has right now.

Which station am I at?

Every station has a name and a code on the front panel — for example OBLit Station Pro 1. Scanning the QR code picks it automatically. If you cannot scan, open oblit.co.za/rent and the list will show you the nearest ones by name.

While you have it

During a rental

The power bank is not charging my phone

Try a different one of the three built-in cables — the fault is usually the cable, not the unit. Push the connector in firmly. If none of them work, the unit is faulty: return it and tell us, and you will not be charged for it.

How much charge is left?

The small green lights on the side of the power bank show the level. Four lights is full.

Can I extend my time?

The simplest route is to return the unit and start a fresh rental, which costs less than losing the deposit. If you are close to the end and nowhere near a station, message us before your time runs out rather than after.

Giving it back

Returning

The slot will not accept the power bank

Tuck all three cables back into their channels first, since a cable sticking out will block it. Push firmly and squarely. If that slot still refuses, try another. If every slot refuses, message us with the station code before you walk away.

I returned it but got no confirmation

Message us straight away with your cellphone number and the name of the station you used. Confirmation is what closes the rental and releases your deposit, so without it the rental may still be open on our side.

Can I return it to a different station?

Yes. Any OBLit station, not only the one you collected from.

I have lost the power bank

Tell us as soon as you know. The deposit covers the unit, so the rental closes and that is the end of it — there is nothing further to pay. If it turns up afterwards, contact us and we will look at it sensibly.

Payments and deposits

Money

My deposit has not come back

Released deposits can take a few working days to appear, depending on your bank. If it has been longer than that, message us with your cellphone number and roughly when you returned the unit, and we will trace it.

I think I was charged twice

Send us both references and we will check. Where there is a genuine duplicate we refund it — you do not have to argue the point.

I was charged but never got a power bank

Message us with your cellphone number and the station name or code. If the station never released a unit, that is our problem to fix, not yours to absorb.

Still stuck

Talk to a person

WhatsApp is quickest, especially if you are standing at a station. Have your cellphone number and the station name ready.
